There is a lot to like about Lenovo, but events this week have left the top PC manufacturer with a lot of explaining to do. It turns out that many of their popular computers running Microsoft Windows have shipped from the factory with adware installed that, despite vigorous denials, is reported to have put the security of their users at substantial risk.
Lenovo quickly promised, and then true to their word delivered an open source tool to remove the Superfish software and associated security certificate. The process is fairly straightforward should you wish to remove these items manually, and is described in detail on the same page that is hosting the removal tool.
